A: No. All downloads on this site are available for free. Pivot Styles exists to serve the Pivot community, not as a profit-making business. However, donations to help with Pivot. All donations can be made by clicking the "paypal" button at the bottom of each page.
Q: Do I have to credit the authors of the templates?
A: Unless explicitedly stated by the author, you are not required to credit the authors. However, the authors will appreciate it if you do decide to credit their work, and it is also considered to be polite practice. After all, it was the authors who did the hard work of coding your template.
Q: What is a GPL?
A: GPL stands for "General Public License". More information can be found in the GPL FAQ.
Q: How is "ownership" or "copyright" of a template design defined?
A: The templates available on Pivot Styles are all free for others to modify and distribute. However, the point must be made that a template, even if it has been heavily modified, does not wholly belong to th person who made the changes. If the foundation of your template is another person's original work, then you must acknowledge the original author.
An example of a copyright notice on a site with a modified template is, "Copyright 2004 Gary, modified from the original design copyright 2004 Larry."
